Christmas music from the every café, decorations on the street and holiday mood in every corner. Huge queues and irritated man who was trying to pick the best present for his wife. Lovely girl who was choosing the best candy from the Christmas fair. The group of girls was making tone of photos near lights to post it and collect as many likes as it possible. (okay, not just girls) All of this things and much more (yeah, I wouldn’t would mention empty shelves in shops and hysterical searching of festive dress) are part of Christmas and New Year. It was my first winter holiday without my family. For someone previous sentence has some positive aspects, other could find negative one. I can’t tell for sure how it works for me. I have double feelings: for one side there were no things that I used to have/do/see/hear/watch, I missed traditional things (in my way of understanding traditional); for other side it was something totally new. I spent my holiday with amazing people, it was so international that you can’t even imagine (no, you could if you follow our snap or ig :D ). The thing I want to pay attention is atmosphere FOOD! Oh oh oh, the choice of dishes was huge! Everyone prepared their traditional food (when I’m telling traditional I mean not just for this holiday, but also for country). It was heaven. Delicious dessert from Georgia with juice of pomegranate, magnificent salad from Azerbaijan, unrivaled Jordanian salad with macaroons, yummy salad of crab sticks and, of course, Ukrainian plates. (now it’s great time to make a break for sandwich ;) ) All of dishes were made with total love and care. I think doing this dishes everyone felt like at home. This is something that connected us with our homes, families. I can tell for sure, during New Year Night I was visiting at least four countries. In general during the all holidays spending in Craiova with my EVS family I can tell for sure that I like this time. Every day full of smiles, games, jocks, stories about home are make it more complete. p.s. I could miss my parents more and cry, but they came to visit me. And it was the best gift for me in this New Year!
